The future of State Street
begins here

Building on the goals identified in the 2018 Life on State Plan, Salt Lake City is taking a major step in restoring the vitality of State Street, taking action between 600 South and 900 South. Moving from planning to implementation, critical investments in the streetscape and pedestrian environment will begin to transform State Street’s identity, encourage neighborhood pride, and signal to all that State Street is again the iconic gateway to the Capital City.

Construction Postponed to 2022

Construction on the Life on State project will be postponed from the summer of this year to early 2022. Salt Lake City has decided to delay the bid process because of funding/high construction costs, contractor availability, and concrete shortages. Please check back with us, or if you have any comments/questions, call the project hotline at 844-782-8389, email us at lifeonstate@slcgov.com, or leave a comment at the bottom of this page.
